All eight of MMAjunkie’s writers and radio hosts are picking headliner and former lightweight champion Benson Henderson (21-3 MMA, 9-1 UFC) to top Rafael dos Anjos (21-7 MMA, 10-5 UFC) at UFC Fight Night 49. In addition, Max Holloway (9-3 MMA, 5-3 UFC) is a unanimous choice against short-notice UFC newcomer Clay Collard (13-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC).
In the night’s welterweight co-feature, there is some contention. Five of our eight pickers like Jordan Mein (28-9 MMA, 2-1 UFC), more than a 2-to-1 favorite, to beat fellow hard-hitting veteran Mike Pyle (26-9-1 MMA, 9-4 UFC).
Five of our eight are picking Francis Carmont (22-9 MMA, 6-2 UFC) to beat Brazil’s Thales Leites (23-4 MMA, 8-3 UFC); five of eight think Chas Skelly (11-1 MMA, 0-1 UFC) will get his first UFC victory against slight favorite Tom Niinimaki (21-6-1 MMA, 1-1 UFC); and seven of eight like James Vick (5-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) to get past Valmir Lazaro (12-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC), who makes his UFC debut.
UFC Fight Night 49 takes place Saturday at BOK Center in Tulsa. The main card airs on FOX Sports 1 following prelims on FOX Sports 2 and UFC Fight Pass.
